August 2007
Hi Everyone!
Mr. Jingeling here to tell you about another key on my ring. It is very ordinary, but that is because it is for an ordinary little house, room, shed, or... well, why don’t I just tell you the story and then you will understand.
It was early in August at the North Pole. Jo-Jo, Baff and some of the elves were doing some work outside, fixing gutters and some of the boards on Santa’s large workshop. Amidst the noise of talking and the clatter of hammers, came a honking sound from seemingly nowhere.
Just then, something odd landed with a bump and a flutter among them. It was a white goose wearing a small scarf, black top hat and monocle.
“Hello”, spoke the bird. “I am Sir Samuel Snow Goose, knighted by the Queen of England herself. And I am on a personal mission to escape the summer heat,”
“You certainly came to the right place to cool down”, said Jo-Jo.
“Yes, but now I am too cold for even a snow goose, it is down right chilly here”, Sir Sam stated.
Suddenly, Santa, hearing the commotion, came over to hear for himself. Thinking deep thoughts Santa came up with a solution. “We will build you a small room next to the elves sleeping quarters”.
“That is too kind, I could never repay with for such generosity”, answered Sir Samuel.
“You do not have to”, replied Santa. “It is all in the spirit of Christmas, sharing and giving to one another that lives here year round”.
“By the way, did I hear you say that you are from England?” asked Santa.
“Why, yes”, answered Sir Samuel, squinting through his monocle.
“Then, maybe, we could ask you to help Mrs. Claus with the afternoon tea, hot chocolate and biscuits break”, Santa suggested.
“Of course!”, Sir Samuel, “I would be more than happy to provide that service for all the kindness you have showed me.”
With that everyone got busy finishing their chores and getting Sir Samuel’s new room built. After the room was finished, Sir Samuel asked me to keep a spare key just in case. So another key was added to my key ring to guard.
Well, until next time, this is Mr. Jingeling wishing you a wonderful rest of the summer. I will be looking forward to hearing from you about the new upcoming school year and your new teacher.
